North Carolina
Wowza.
North Carolina blew us out of the water. It had mountains, rivers, log cabins, quirky towns, waterfalls - all of our favorite things. Full disclosure, I have been once before but to New Bern, NC which is drastically different than the areas we spent time in on this road trip. I got the itch to go to North Carolina after a very random conversation with a friend about how awesome the North Carolina mountains are and since I had never been before, I wanted to check them out for myself!
Here’s a general recap of where we stayed along the way:
The first night was spent at my parent’s house in East Texas
Second night in Meridian, MS
Third and fourth nights in Ellijay, GA
Fifth and sixth nights in Boone, NC
Seventh and eighth night in Hendersonville, NC
Ninth and final night in New Orleans, LA
Whew! That’s a lot of nights in different places with two toddlers that really enjoy consistency in their life haha! No but really, the kids did great. They get really excited to explore new places and I want to think that we are fostering a love for travel with them in these little years that will only continue to get easier and more enjoyable all around.
